Celebrating Catherine
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York honored one of LSA’s own, Catherine Proctor, Director of Finance, at their 2019 Convening of the Catholic Charities Federation.
The theme of this year’s convention was “A Celebration of Staff” – an evening dedicated to celebrating the work of the talented and dedicated people who provide help and create hope for New Yorkers in need every day.
Catherine’s nomination, written by CFO Lawrence Mitchell and included below, speaks to Catherine’s unwavering dedication to LSA and its mission for 20 years. Thank you for your work, Catherine!
Catherine Proctor joined Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service, Inc. (LSA) in May of 1999 as a staff accountant and then promoted to controller in 2012. Over the past twenty years, as LSA has grown within the East Harlem Community, Catherine has dedicated herself to serving the agency in a succession of positions of increasing responsibility within the Finance Department. In 2019, Catherine was promoted to the position of Director of Finance. Catherine is an outstanding and talented financial professional, keeping abreast of all the on-going shifts to a multitude of city, state and federal policies, procedures and practices, to ensure that LSA is able to faithfully serve its clients within the community with the services they are so urgently in need of. In her role, Catherine also oversees processes, such as payroll and employee benefits, ensuring that staff are able to dedicate themselves to the care and service of our clients. Catherine manages to accomplish all of these often complex tasks with professionalism, grace, concern for the individual and a quiet sense of humor. LSA is extremely fortunate to have Catherine Flores Proctor as a staff member – her sense of duty, sincerity and integrity embodies the spirit and mission of LSA.
