July 24, 2015 – Families learned to make a Three-Color Salad with Raisins in the first of 6 Community CookShop classes. The classes are a joint venture of Food Bank For New York City and the Mario Batali Foundation. Cooking classes for parents and children will be conducted in Spanish, and participants learn skills for maximizing their food budgets, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and prepare tasty recipes developed by Chef Mario Batali. Each family participates in making a delicious dish during the class and takes home the ingredients to continue the healthy cooking at home.
