The Sharing Place Thrift Store is a popular destination for new and gently used, high-quality clothing and shoes at very low prices.
Our neighbors tell us that The Sharing Place gives them the opportunity to shop with dignity, even with a tight budget, while also gaining awareness of other programs at LSA. It’s a warm, welcoming place where neighbors shop, meet and socialize.
UPDATE (OCT 2025): After more than four decades of service, The Sharing Place—our beloved third store—will be closing its doors on November 21st. This marks the end of a remarkable chapter in LSA’s history, one made possible by the generosity and commitment of our donors, volunteers, and community partners.
We are deeply grateful to every supporter who helped sustain The Sharing Place over the years. Your compassion made it a cornerstone of care, dignity, and hope for countless East Harlem families.
As we look ahead, we are excited to announce that this transition paves the way for our new Health & Wellness Center, which will open in 2026. This center will transform the way we provide food and health services—creating an integrated space where families can access nutritious food, health screenings, wellness education, and holistic support all under one roof.
