Corporate Volunteer Spotlights
LSA sends our heartfelt thanks to Board Members Melineh Ounanian and Malou Fontanez, both of whom organized group volunteer days with their corporations this month.
Last week, Melineh and her colleagues from Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. volunteered in our food pantry, and matched their volunteerism with a financial gift from their company. They assisted in the assembly line, serving bags of fresh fruits and veggies to LSA families. While learning the ins and outs of our pantry program, they also heard about the impact of summer food insecurity on our clients.
This week, staff from BBVA joined Malou in hosting a financial literacy workshop for 5th and 6th graders in LSA’s Summer Enrichment Program. Our students learned all about loans, budgets, savings, and income. BBVA also brought along a donation of snacks and school supplies for LSA students!
Thank you BBH and BBVA! And thank you to Malou and Melineh for your leadership! Corporate engagement makes a significant impact in our community, and we always love the opportunity to welcome new volunteers into our building.
