Supporting Our Immigrant Community
LSA Family Health Service reaffirms our unwavering commitment to East Harlem’s immigrant community. For decades, we have stood beside families, navigating the challenges of building a better future. We are committed to providing hope, support, and empowerment in these uncertain times.
Our Commitment to Immigrants
- Family and Legal Support:
- Partner with legal aid organizations to offer free legal consultations and workshops.
- Host “Know Your Rights” sessions to educate families about changes in immigration policies.
- Safe Spaces and Community Support:
- Provide a welcoming space for families to access resources, from food pantries to mental health services.
- Act in compliance with NYC law which does not allow city contracted organizations to cooperate with non-local law enforcement without the presence of a proper warrant signed by a judge.
- Educational Empowerment:
- Offer skill-building workshops tailored to immigrant families.
- Support students with tutoring and mentorship programs to close educational gaps.
- Access to Health Care and Critical Benefits:
- Expand health navigation services to ensure families of all immigration status have access to medical care.
- Increase enrollment support for public benefits, resulting in fewer emergencies and greater stability.
