LSA Family Health Service joined Monica Morales on Pix11 News to discuss how the uncertainty around SNAP benefits is affecting families across New York City. The segment focused on the growing need for food assistance and the vital work of local pantries — including LSA’s — in partnership with United Way of New York City, which supports over 400 community-based food programs citywide.

In the piece, Jonah Gensler, LSA’s CEO, and Lucia Aguilar, Director of Family Support Services, spoke alongside Kanchana Suggu, Chief Impact Officer at United Way, about the strain families are feeling as they face rising food prices and unclear federal benefits. They shared how our pantry has seen longer lines and higher demand each week, and how our team continues to ensure that families in East Harlem have access to healthy, reliable food. The segment also featured clients from our pantry line, who spoke candidly about what this support means for their families.
