We are proud to share that Mónica Sánchez, MS, ATR-BC, LCAT, Director of Mental Health Services at LSA Family Health Service, co-authored the book chapter “Art Therapy with Latin-American Immigrant Women” with Dr. Rachel Brandoff, her mentor and former clinical supervisor. The chapter was published by IGI Global in “Exploring the Benefit of Creative Arts Therapies for Children, Adolescents, and Adults.” Mónica and Dr. Brandoff’s research explores the Mental Health Services Program at LSA that Mónica has overseen with care for nearly 10 years.
As a Latina immigrant woman, Mónica is committed to developing and providing high-quality therapeutic interventions for immigrant women survivors of trauma. She has developed the mental health program at LSA to include a holistic blend of individual, dyad, and group psychotherapy and art therapy, and she works primarily with women of childbearing age who have histories of significant and complex trauma.
